ATLANTA, GA (July 25, 2016) – Delta Community Credit Union, Georgia’s largest credit union with more than $5 billion in assets and more than 340,000 members, held in July its third annual series of Cool Cash Money Camps as part of its Financial Education Center program.
Delta Community’s new Financial Education Center program provides a wide range of free educational opportunities to its members and other residents in metro Atlanta. “We’re focused on helping people get more out of their finances throughout life,” said Hank Halter, Delta Community’s CEO. “These camps offer our members a great opportunity to teach their children the basics of budgeting and saving for the future through fun, interactive exercises.”
Delta Community’s Cool Cash Money Camp curriculum meets National Financial Literacy Standards and is designed for children between eight and 11 years old. More than 100 children and their guardians attended nine camp workshops. Five camps were held in Cobb County, at the Delta Community Vinings location in the Cumberland area, and four were held in the Credit Union’s Peachtree City-Wisdom Road location.
Each interactive seminar taught fundamentals of money management including techniques for:
· Earning: learning to earn and identify sources of income
